Habitat
The S.loricata is differentiated from S.assmusi through DNA phylogenetic analysis. S.loricata are found in the Mesopotamian lowlands of Iran, close to where you will find S.assmusi but with a natural mountain barrier separating these two distinct species.
The Loricata specifically are found in Iraq near the southern border of Iran, and also in Iran, near the southern border with Iraq.
The Loricata's habitat is classified as an arid hot desert to a semi-desert. They are found in the lowlands, in plains with sporadic hillsides. The climate is classified as even temperature, with hot summers and short cool seasons. The yearly average is between 115F and 80F, with 4 months over 100F. The cool season rarely drops below 40F for approximately 3 months of the year.
